About us

It all began with a Homeschool Educator and mother's commitment to providing diverse educational, spiritual, and cultural learning opportunities for her children. Having fostered working relationships with well-established indigenous and community organisations, they began offering workshops and longer-term engagements across the wider Homeschool Communities in Far North Queensland, Australia.

Through collaboration and kinship, our Founder's vision has grown to now incorporate the delivery of a diverse range of STEM, Space, and Aviation Programs, thanks to Dr Samarra Toby and Sharon Cavanagh-Luskin, of The Native Academy of Space, Science and Innovation and Illuminate FNQ.

We look forward to continuing to partner with NASSI, Illuminate FNQ, Circa Gimuy, Harbrow Mentoring, and others to advance children everywhere.

Our impact

Typically, homeschooling offers children the flexibility to tailor education to their individual pace and interests. It can build stronger family bonds through daily interaction and can create a safe space for kids who struggle with bullying or rigid school schedules.

This was the case for Maurice*, whose experiences with bullying in mainstream schooling environments left him feeling socially anxious.

Maurice joined us for a two-day 'STEM on Country' workshop, provided by Illuminate FNQ, during which his confidence soared. Under the instruction of Steve, the Flight Commander, Maurice was noted as having a natural flair for aviation and was invited to continue training at the Flight Simulation Centre.

Maurice had made three friends from a remote community, whom we are keen to keep him connected with. After struggling to pique the teen's interest in pursuing a future career, his parents were elated to hear Maurice tell them how much he enjoyed the workshop and making friends, and that he would like to become a Pilot.

We'll be working with Maurice to make sure he is given the opportunity to turn that dream into a reality.
